I guess I won't be featured on House Hunters anytime soon so I've taken matters into my own hands.

While I was touring my future home today, I heard a few of the contractors talking loudly in the backyard. (Contractors are there touching up paint, installing doors, etc). I listened to them and learned that there was a rattle snake in the backyard of my future home. How freakin appropriate, right?

One of the contractors put the rattlesnake in a cooler in the back of his pickup truck. Sounds redneck to me. So I never actually saw the rattle snake, but it's the closest I've been to one in nature (not in the zoo, etc). Uhh, great. I am moving to rattlesnake country!

Dear Snakes,

Please don't eat my dogs.

Love,
Me

It's the second week of September and we have temperatures in the 90s. Ugh. Someone remind me why I moved to the deep South again?

So we formed a book club at work.

Last month we read The Kite Runner which is an excellent (and sad) book.

This month we are reading The Alchemist.

Next month's book is One Hundred Years of Solitude.

I hardly found time to read for pleasure while in college (for 8 long years). I still find myself reading technical journals and/or reports during my "free time" these days, but the book club gives me an excuse to read one book per month for pleasure.

Another blog. Just what I need.
